ABOUT FPESS

Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (FPESS) started at Islamic Azad University, Khorasgan Branch, first in 1993, by establishing an MS program; namely, Physical Education and Sports Sciences. Further development came in 2007, by offering specialized courses for MS programs in Sports Physiology and Sports Management, followed by introducing other MS courses in Sports Psychology, Motor Behavior, and Sports Pathology in 2011. Since 2003, the faculty has started BS programs in Physical Education and Sports Sciences, too.

At the present time, there are 500 students studying seven different majors at three levels of graduate and undergraduate studies. FPESS will offer A PhD program in Sports Physiology in near future. The Specialized Library of FPESS was established in 2012 with stacks and reading space of 60 square meters and more than 3200 entries. FPESS offers General Sports courses to more than 13000 students of other faculties of IAUKB studying different majors at different levels.  

 

The FPESS Undergraduate Department Offers:

The General Sports Center Offers:

·        General Courses

 

The faculty offices and classrooms reside in the Physical Education and Sports Sciences Building. At the present time, 10 faculty members including two Associate Professors, five Assistant Professors, and three Instructors teach at Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The faculty is equipped with sports centers, computer sites, and a library. More than 571 students are studying different majors at different levels in this faculty:

 

·        BS students in Physical Education and Sports Sciences: 23 students

·        BS students in Sports Physiology: 168 students

·        BS students in Physical Education: 63 students

·        MS students in Sports Pathology: 78 students

·        MS students in Motor Behavior: 75 students

·        MS students in Sports Psychology: 115 students

·        MS students in Sports Management: 87 students

·        MS students in Sports Physiology: 74 students
